Hope of the Valley needs to be changed to Hope the Mission

Small groups and Life Groups from churches, synagogues, and temples can help our Family Shelters. Here are a few ways that your group can help:

  • Sponsor a meal or host a BBQ
  • Host a movie night or a game night
  • Invite families and youth to one of your gatherings
  • Provide homework assistance and tutoring to school-aged children
  • Provide an internship opportunity for a young adult
  • Conduct a property improvement project
  • Plant a garden
  • Rehab an outdoor play area
  • Teach a class to the kids or adults
  • Sponsor self-care days that promote wellness

Volunteer at one of our events. Help with registration or be an usher or a greeter at one of our benefit concerts or performances. Help promote our Drumstick Dash LA 10k/5k benefit run on Thanksgiving morning. Help secure sponsors and in-kind donations.

We also welcome volunteering in our kitchen and serving a meal at one of our shelters.

I was able to quickly see that HOPE the Mission is a rare organization. It’s an organization with real heart to help and positively impact those experiencing homelessness and hardship. HOPE staff don’t see their work as a job, they see it as their personal mission. I’ve witnessed it firsthand, over and over. They inspire me to do more and have faith in the mission to HOPE.

My favorite volunteer opportunity that I have done with Hope The Mission is the Drumstick Dash LA 5k / 10k Run “move your feet so others can eat”. It’s an exciting

Making a difference is important to me and Hope the Mission offers [many] volunteer opportunities to do that. I have volunteered at different events including the Turkey Trot and Lasagna Day and each time I felt that I was contributing to the community who needs it most. The events are always fun too! I always try to bring my friends and they also enjoy volunteering. I look forward to continuing to help out at Hope!
