Transitional Aged Youth Shelter
The Oaks
The Oaks is a 26-unit motel for Transitional Age Youth (TAY) between the ages of 18 and 24 years old who were homeless or previously homeless prior to entering the program. Nearly half of these youth have exited foster care or delinquency systems in Los Angeles County. As part of Project Homekey, we are acquiring a 26-unit, 38-beds motel in Encino to provide a safe haven exclusively for these young adults who have faced unimaginable challenges and hardships.
To bring this vision to life, we need your help! To cover our portion of the construction costs for the purchase and renovation of the Oak Tree Inn, we will need nearly $600,000. It’s a significant sum, but we are confident that we can make this dream a reality together.
