The HELP Center is an access center in Van Nuys for homeless individuals needing showers, clean clothes, job assistance, referrals to public benefits, medical and mental health care and substance abuse recovery programs. Clients have access to a computer lab. Because we know how important animal companions are to our clients, the HELP Center is a pet friendly site. Case managers help clients identify goals that they can accomplish in a short time period to improve their current circumstances.
The HELP Center is a Coordinated Entry System (CES) site in the Los Angeles County Homeless Continuum of Care (CoC) where trained case managers conduct in-depth intakes for clients to determine where the client can begin accessing services through the Rapid Re-Housing and Housing Navigation Continuum.
Clients also benefit from the many collaborative relationships the Center has formed with community partners that provide additional resources and services and helps ensure proper leveraging of limited resources to avoid service duplication.
The HELP Center adheres to a Housing First, Harm Reduction evidence-based service delivery approach to addressing our clients’ homeless circumstances.
