Whitsett West: 150 More Beds!
Whitsett West Tiny Home Village is right off of the 170 Freeway, near Sherman Way, at Whitsett and Saticoy Street. Built by the City of Los Angeles, this new Tiny Home Village consists of 77 units and 150 beds and is estimated to help nearly 600+ unhoused Angelenos take their first step off the streets annually! The Tiny Homes will provide emergency housing, food, hygiene and all the necessary services to help people experiencing homelessness stabilize and ultimately transition into permanent housing.
Whitsett West is the fifth bridge housing project completed in Councilmember Paul Krekorian’s district. In addition to the three tiny home villages, the 85-Bed NoHo Bridge Housing Shelter and 100-Bed Van Nuys Bridge Housing Shelter both opened in the summer of 2020. “[With the opening of Whitsett West] we will have enough beds – nearly 800 – to house every chronically homeless person living on the streets of my district, based on figures from the latest homeless count,” said Councilmember Paul Krekorian
