Family Shelters

The Get Together Foundation’s Casa de Vida

The Get Together Foundation’s Casa de Vida is a 48-bed, 90-day, family crisis shelter located in the West San Fernando Valley for families with children that can can comfortably house 12 families nightly.

All programs are staffed 24-hours a day seven days a week. Families have access to housing navigation case management, referrals to outside service providers for medical and mental health care, parenting classes, and can receive help finding child care and employment. Most of our families are headed by single mothers, and because 60 percent of these mothers have at one time fallen victim to domestic violence, our staff has special training on caring for these vulnerable families.

Our aim is to make all of our “houses” as welcoming and as comfortable as possible. This reduces stress on parents and children so they can settle into their new accommodations and routines quickly and begin the work to stabilize their crises and find, secure and retain permanent housing.
